Day 12: Wednesday 11 October 2017, Washington DC

We took some morning photos from the cabin back to the main house and packed up our bags, said farewell to the lodge and set off for Washington.

Had the biggest leg of our driving journey today and combined with the rain and traffic we didn’t arrive at the hotel until 6.30pm.

Upon arrival I asked about the possibility of a rollaway (the guy on the phone when we were on the road said no) but I thought it couldn’t hurt to ask again and not only did she say yes but she upgraded us to a larger room to fit us more comfortably!!! Don’t think I’ve ever had an upgrade ever yay!!!

We dropped the bags off to the hotel (Omni Shoreham Hotel & Resort), Kellie decided to stay and rest and have some dinner and Jo, Dawn and I went night monument driving which would have been more fantastic if the rain had have stopped. Anyway we still got some great pics.

Since we were unable to find anything to eat we went back and ordered some room service before falling into bed :)
