Day 14: Friday 13 October 2017, New York City

Happy birthday to me in USA!!!!! To celebrate we were up at 6am to pack up for The final leg of the road trip. We had to have the car back at JFK by 10:15 AM and we had to drop the bags off and the girls to the hotel in the city first. Wow! What an experience!

It wasn’t as bad as I thought it might have been but it was definitely an experience. Once we got out of the city the traffic eased off and we were at the airport early to return the car. Joe and I called and either back to the hotel and we arrive back roughly at 11.30am.

As we hadn’t eaten we went straight for John’s Pizza on the block up from ours. It was sensational but very huge pizzas!!!!

We walked Dawn and Kellie back to the hotel for them to wait for our room to be ready and have a rest and Jo and I set off for a walk around the city. We went and looked at times for the theatre, we saw the block of Times Square had a photo with a lovely NY policeman, went to the M and M factory, the NBC store and the NBA store! Got Jared some good pressies and we headed back to pick up the girls for the Knicks game at Madison Square Garden. Dawn hadn’t been well and decided to stay at the hotel and rest so the three of us headed off for the 15 minute walk.

We had some fab seats on the halfway mark and unfortunately the Knicks went down to the (Washington) Wizards but it was an awesome experience.

We slowly meandered back to the hotel and fell into bed. After only four hours sleep I’m certainly looking forwarded to a good sleep tonight :)
