Day 7: Friday 6 October 2017, Farewell LA, Hello Memphis

I was awake at 6.45am, showered and started shoving the rest of the stuff everywhere that it could fit. We went to Denny’s for our final LA breakfast and then began the arduous task of trying to fit it all into the car :)
We hit the road and headed for Rodondo Beach and the pier where the OC Bait Shop etc was filmed. Next stop was Santa Monica Pier. We drove along the beach road and as it was a spectacular Californian day the sights of the beach along the way was beautiful. So worth the drive. Upon arrival at the Pier it was the most beautiful clear and sunny day I’d seen out of the three trips that I had been there. We had a quick lunch at Bubba Gump, a quick walk to the end of the pier and back and then jumped back into the car as it was time to head to airport.
I dropped the girls at the Terminal: Jo, Kel and Dawn at Delta Domestic 3 and Suzie at International B around the corner. I had to take the car back to the rental yard and then caught the shuttle back to meet the girls. We dragged ourselves through security and went to find a drink to relax however I wasn’t paying US$15 for a teensy glass of red so I bought a water and sat at the gate ready to depart!
Flight was amazing and quick. 3 hours and 4 minutes woo hoo!!! The staff on Delta were bubbly and personable and a lovely gentleman was waiting for us outside the airport doors upon arrival. The trip to the Crowne Plaza took only about 15 minutes and we settled into the room before falling into bed. It’s 2am here at the moment which is 2 hours in front of LA and 6pm in Sydney on Saturday night so we’re 8 hours in front but the day behind :)
